Beef Milanesa French Dip
My husband is the one that really dominates the meat making in our house. Whenever he has an idea for dinner, I step aside. These French Dip Sandwiches are perfect for watching the big game or when you want a cozy dinner that mixes it up from the usual.
Ingredients Serves 6 Time: 30 minutes (prep and cook total)
1 onion diced + 1 TBSP oil to saute about 1.5 pounds thinly sliced beef milanesa salt garlic powder 6 hoagie buns provolone or mozerella cheese (6 slices or about a cup shredded) 2 TBSP butter melted
Au Ju sauce 2-3 cups beef broth
Preheat oven 350 degrees
Dice onion- set aside
Brush melted butter onto inside of hoagie buns and place open face on baking sheet- set aside
Cut beef into 1-2 inch strips and sprinkle with salt and garlic powder
Heat cast iron skillet or pan on medium heat and warm pan, once warm, add oil and heat
Begin to sauté onions
Cook the beef in the hot, oiled pan. Cook each side. (each side should take less than 2 minutes).
Place beef on hoagie and place slice of cheese on top
Place sandwiches back on your cookie sheet and put in oven for 3 minutes (to melt cheese).
While your sandwiches are in the oven, deglaze the pan you cooked the meat in with the beef broth and heat broth.
Serve au ju sauce in small bowl for dipping
