Simple Spaghetti
While I am all about homemade meals AND semi-homemade may just be where it is at. As a busy family, I often only have 20 minutes to prepare dinner and then 20 minutes to eat. This recipe is perfect for elevating your favorite jar of spaghetti sauce. It’s definitely a weekly staple in our home.
Time: 20 minutes Serves 8
Ingredients
Your favorite 24 ounce jar of spaghetti sauce. (My favorites are Aldi Tomato Basil and Prego Meat flavored) 1 lb. ground beef or ground chicken 1 tsp. garlic powder 1 TBSP Italian seasoning Spaghetti noodles of your choice
optional add ins: diced sautéed onion, carrots or celery sautéed mushrooms
If adding onions, carrots, or celery, saute these first and remove from pan before browning the meat.
Brown the meat, drain fat and return to pan. While browning, sprinkle with garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
Add your sauce and reduce heat to a simmer.
Boil your noodles.
Our favorite sides are a simple salad and garlic bread, but some nights we have just enough time and energy and the spaghetti is good enough to stand alone.
